The impacts of 2016's tremendous real estate surge continue to be felt as we enter the New Year, and a new market. Notably, the distribution of sales across our residential property types leveled-off even further in January. As well, prices continue to adjust to match more typical demand, albeit slowly.

Here's a high-level snapshot of listing and sales activity for townhouses in January 2017.

The sales-to-active-listings ratio netted out a market absorption rate of 45.28%, indicating that it was a Seller's Market for townhouses in in January 2017 (click on the link learn more about local housing market ratios on the BC Real Estate Association blog).
